The challenge

Museums struggle to get a good understanding of their customers, and therefore struggle to meet the customer’s needs and provide customers with a true experience. Resulting in the pain for museums and their visitors, of the latter getting less likely to visit a museum again, and/or becoming an ambassador for the museum. So our project addresses several interconnected problems faced by museums and their visitors, focusing on enhancing the overall museum experience through technology. Here's a breakdown of the key issues our project aims to solve: Limited Understanding of Visitor Needs and Preferences: Many museums struggle to grasp fully what their visitors expect from their experiences, which can lead to generic and less engaging exhibits. Variable Visitor Engagement: Museums often face challenges in keeping different types of visitors engaged, from casual tourists to art and history enthusiasts. Barriers to Education and Accessibility: Accessing in-depth information about exhibits can be challenging for some visitors, either due to physical layout constraints or the presentation of information. Difficulty in Encouraging Repeat Visits and Ambassadorship: Museums often struggle to motivate visitors to return or recommend the museum to others. Navigational Challenges within Museums: Visitors can sometimes find museums overwhelming or difficult to navigate, potentially leading to a less satisfying experience. By addressing these issues, our project not only aims to enhance the museum-going experience but also supports museums in their efforts to become more visitor-centric, accessible, and engaging cultural spaces. This, in turn, can lead to increased visitor satisfaction, repeat visits, and a stronger cultural community.

The solution

Our solution is a comprehensive mobile app designed to significantly enhance the museum experience for visitors by making it more interactive, personalised, and educational. This app offers several key features: Customisable Experiences: Adjusting the museum environment's difficulty and interactivity to meet diverse visitor preferences. Engagement and Learning: Interactive activities and games that educate and entertain, fostering a deeper connection with the exhibits. Navigation and Information: A clear digital map for easy navigation and on-demand access to detailed information about exhibits. Social Sharing and Feedback: Features that allow visitors to share their experiences, rate exhibits, and provide feedback, encouraging community building and repeat visits. Progress Tracking: A system for visitors to track their visits and discoveries, gamifying the experience and motivating further exploration. Ticket Purchases: A store page for easy purchase of tickets for future visits or events, enhancing convenience and encouraging repeat engagement. Overall, our app aims to solve the challenges museums face in understanding and engaging their visitors, by providing a tool that enriches the visitor experience, increases accessibility and learning, and fosters a stronger connection between museums and their audience. By providing their customers with a unique experience that can be tailored to both the wants and needs of the visitors and the museums themselves, museums will be able to create a solid customer base and in turn get more ambassadors. This app can be developed so that it can be used in every museum that would be interested in relieving their current pain of having difficulty understanding the visitor and creating a true experience. by gamifying the app, it will be more attractive for the museum visitors. This gives museums the opportunity to attract people from different ages, different cultures and backgrounds. Even eventually expanding the market demand.
